NFL: Sunday's play

Play: Tampa Bay +3 -101

 Time: 1 p.m. ET

Reasoning: The Buccaneers are coming off a bye and have won five of the last seven meetings. In his last game Jameis Winston posted a 122.5 passer rating and Doug Martin eclipsed 100 yards for the second straight contest. Mike Evans hasn't gotten untracked this year, but he totaled 209 yards and two TDs in a 27-7 win at Washington last season. The Redskins have given up an average of 198.5 rushing yards in their last two tilts and Alfred Morris has just 36 yards on 19 carries in those defeats. Tampa Bay ranks fifth in total defense (322.8 ypg).

NFL: Monday's play

Play: Philadelphia -5.5 -101

Time: 8:30 p.m. ET

TV: ESPN

Reasoning: The Eagles swept New York last season and beat the Giants 27-0 at Lincoln Financial Field. Last week Philadelphia trashed New Orleans 39-17 and that beating would have been worse had Sam Bradford not thrown two INTs in the red zone. New York could be without Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) in this one. He has made the trip to Philadelphia, but he hasn't practiced and is listed as questionable. Beckham had 185 yards in his last game against the Eagles. DeMarco Murray rushed for 249 yards in two games against the Giants last season when he was with Dallas. New York has the NFL's worst pass defense and is 3-10-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings. The Eagles have forced eight fumbles and have totaled six INTs.

MLB: Monday's plays

Play: St. Louis +1.5 +110 (Wacha vs. Arrieta)

Time: 6 p.m. ET

TV: TBS

Reasoning: The Cardinals would be 124-40 if they were given 1.5 rpg. Chicago would be 64-100 if it gave 1.5 rpg. Michael Wacha is 4-2 with a 3.48 ERA in six career postseason games (five starts). St. Louis scores a half-run more per game vs. RH. Kolten Wong and Randall Grichuk hit back-to-back homers in Game 2 and Matt Carpenter added a homer and has five round-trippers in his last 11 postseason contests. The Cubs are hitting .200 and are averaging 2.11 rpg in their last five vs. RH. Kris Bryant is 0-for-11 with four strikeouts so far in the playoffs. Cardinals relievers have a 2.79 ERA and Chicago relievers have a 3.36 ERA.

Play: L.A. Dodgers +1.5 -143 (Anderson vs. Harvey)

Time: 8:30 p.m. ET

TV: TBS

Reasoning: Los Angeles would be 119-45 if it was given 1.5 rpg. New York would be 66-98 if it gave 1.5 rpg. Brett Anderson allowed just two runs on four hits over 7.2 IP in his playoff tuneup on Oct. 1. The Mets have never seen him and he allowed one run on three hits over 6.1 IP in the 2012 and 2013 playoffs. Matt Harvey, who is making his postseason debut, went 1-1 and allowed five runs and 13 hits over 12 innings against L.A. in 2015. New York scores about a half-run fewer per game vs. LH. It has averaged 1.43 rpg over its last five overall. Over their last five games, Dodgers relievers have a 2.13 ERA and Mets relievers have a 3.95 ERA.

MLB: Wednesday's play

Play: Pittsburgh +1.5 -155 (Arrieta vs. Cole)

Time: 8 p.m. ET

TV: TBS

Reasoning: The Pirates would be 115-47 if they were given 1.5 rpg. Chicago would be 63-99 if it gave 1.5 rpg. Pittsburgh is playing in this showdown for the third-straight year. It is 53-28 at home this season. Jake Arrieta is going for the Cubs, but Pirates starter Gerrit Cole is no slouch (19-8, 2.60 ERA). He is 7-1 in nine career starts against Chicago. On Sept. 25 he allowed the Cubs one run on four hits over seven innings, and he has struck out 32 in 25.2 innings against Chicago in 2015. Pittsburgh's bullpen has been lights-out (2.67 ERA). The Cubs, who have struck out more than any other team, have averaged just 3.28 rpg over their last 10 vs. RH. The Bucs score 0.81 more rpg vs. RH and they have averaged 5.65 rpg over their last five against righties.

MLB: Tuesday's play

Play: N.Y. Yankees +1.5 -168 (Keuchel vs. Tanaka)

Time: 8 p.m. ET

TV:  ESPN

Reasoning: The Yankees would be 111-51 if they were given 1.5 rpg. Houston would be 65-97 if it gave 1.5 rpg. The Astros went 33-48 on the road this season. Here they will start ace Dallas Keuchel, but he went 5-8 with a 3.77 ERA on the road. Keuchel also is making this start on three days rest, something he's never done before. Masahiro Tanaka takes the ball for New York, and he has a better WHIP than Keuchel both overall and over the last three starts. The Yankees also will have most of their starters available out of the bullpen.

NFL: Sunday's play

Play: Miami +2 -106

Time: 9:30 a.m. ET

TV: CBS

Reasoning: This is New York's first game in London. The Dolphins played there last season, also in Week 4, and beat Oakland 38-14. Chris Ivory (quadriceps) may return for this one after missing last week. But in four games against Miami, he's totaled just 171 yards (3.7 ypc). Without Ivory last week the Jets ran for only 48 yards.  I like Lamar Miller to get untracked here. In last season's finale against New York he went for 178 rushing yards. In that contest Eric Decker racked up 10 catches for 221 yards, but he may miss his second straight game with a sprained knee. The Dolphins held Brandon Marshall in check last season, allowing him just 48 yards on Oct. 19 when he was with Chicago. I still believe in Ryan Tannehill, especially with weapons like Miller, Jarvis Landry (24 receptions, 230 yards) and Rishard Matthews (16 catches, 262 yards, 3 TDs). Tannehill threw three INTs last week, but he also has five TDs and a completion percentage of 61.4. Ryan Fitzpatrick also was picked off three times last week and has five total INTs.
