MLB: Wednesday's play

Play: Pittsburgh +1.5 -155 (Arrieta vs. Cole)

Time: 8 p.m. ET

TV: TBS

Reasoning: The Pirates would be 115-47 if they were given 1.5 rpg. Chicago would be 63-99 if it gave 1.5 rpg. Pittsburgh is playing in this showdown for the third-straight year. It is 53-28 at home this season. Jake Arrieta is going for the Cubs, but Pirates starter Gerrit Cole is no slouch (19-8, 2.60 ERA). He is 7-1 in nine career starts against Chicago. On Sept. 25 he allowed the Cubs one run on four hits over seven innings, and he has struck out 32 in 25.2 innings against Chicago in 2015. Pittsburgh's bullpen has been lights-out (2.67 ERA). The Cubs, who have struck out more than any other team, have averaged just 3.28 rpg over their last 10 vs. RH. The Bucs score 0.81 more rpg vs. RH and they have averaged 5.65 rpg over their last five against righties.

Record: 424-341-20 (55.4%)
Bankroll: +163.92%
